Bonjour, c’est vendredi, c’est jour d’article et je vais essayer de reprendre un rythme de publication normal, si vous me lisez régulièrement vous savez qu’il se passe des choses non ordinaires en ce moment. 

J’ai envie de partager avec vous au fur et à mesure les coulisses de ma participation à Knit Stars. 

Vous avez peut-être vu passer mes vidéos teasing animées sur Instagram la semaine dernière. Dès le 26 mars, tous les participants à Knit Stars devaient commencer à évoquer leur participation sans dévoiler le pot aux roses. La consigne était de chaque jour poster un élément qui évoque cette saison du programme. 

Hello, it’s Friday, it’s article day and I’m going to try to get back to a normal publishing schedule — if you follow me regularly, you know that some extraordinary things are happening right now.

I want to share with you, little by little, a behind-the-scenes look at my participation in Knit Stars. You may have seen my animated teaser videos on Instagram last week. Starting March 26th, all Knit Stars participants were asked to begin hinting at their involvement without giving away the secret. The instruction was to post something each day that would evoke this season of the program.

Jeudi 

Nous devions poster, d’une manière ou d’une autre, une ampoule. La saison est intitulée « Your season of genius » et l’un de nos buts est de réveiller votre créativité. L’ampoule a donc été choisie pour illustrer ce thème. J’ai décidé de tricoter une ampoule…
Thursday We had to post, in one way or another, a light bulb. The season is titled « Your Season of Genius » and one of our goals is to awaken your creativity. The light bulb was therefore chosen to illustrate this theme. I decided to knit a light bulb…

Et puis j’ai eu très envie que cette ampoule s’allume alors j’ai décidé de lui tricoter une prise électrique (comment voulez-vous qu’elle s’allume sinon ?)
And then I really wanted that light bulb to light up, so I decided to knit it an electrical plug (how else was it supposed to turn on?)

Et puis j’ai décidé de faire une animation. Le salon s’est transformé en studio, Minou a veillé au grain. 
And then I decided to make an animation. The living room turned into a studio, and Minou kept a watchful eye.

J’avais très envie que l’ampoule s’allume « en laine ». J’ai donc brodé et pris en photo petit-à-petit mes broderies jusqu’à ce qu’elle apparaisse toute allumée. 
I really wanted the light bulb to light up « in yarn. » So I embroidered, photographing my embroidery step by step until it appeared fully lit.

Malheureusement, une fois les images montées pour l’animation (par Arnaud) mon truc de broderie ne fonctionnait pas donc on a fait autrement. 
Unfortunately, once the images were put together for the animation (by Arnaud), my embroidery idea didn’t work out, so we went about it differently.

Vendredi

C’est le mot « Genius » qui devait être mis en avant. J’ai pensé au génie dans la lampe, j’ai pensé à ma consommation nécessaire de thé pour pouvoir fonctionner normalement, j’ai décidé que le génie sortirait de la théière sous forme de coton hydrophile maintenu par du fil de fer. 

Friday The word « Genius » was the focus for this day. I thought of the genie in the lamp, I thought of my necessary tea consumption to function properly, and I decided that the genie would emerge from the teapot in the form of cotton wool held in place by wire.

Samedi

C’était le dernier jour avant l’annonce, nous devions utiliser l’expression « The Stars align tomorrow ». Mes étoiles brodées ne sont pas très alignées mais elles sont là et toutes ensemble. 

Saturday It was the last day before the announcement — we had to use the expression « The Stars align tomorrow. » My embroidered stars aren’t perfectly aligned, but they’re there, all together.

J’ai beaucoup aimé préparer ces petites animations qui m’ont rappelé le plaisir que nous avions eu, avec Arnaud, a faire le shooting du Club Tricot 3. Nous avions transformé notre bureau de l’époque en cirque, avec paille au sol et tralala. J’avais fait des kilos de papier-mâché, de collages et autres bricolages et nous avions eu la chance d’avoir de petits mannequins fort mignons pour incarner les personnages du cirque. 

I really enjoyed preparing these little animations, which reminded me of the fun Arnaud and I had during the Club Tricot 3 photoshoot. We had transformed our office at the time into a circus, complete with straw on the floor and all the trimmings. I had made kilos of papier-mâché, collages and other crafty creations, and we were lucky enough to have adorable little mannequins to bring the circus characters to life.

Pas de cours de papier-mâché ou d’animation prévu pour Knit Stars mais un cours de jacquard ladderback dont je vous parlerai plus en détail bientôt. 
No papier-mâché or animation classes planned for Knit Stars, but a ladderback jacquard class that I’ll tell you more about soon.
